Holidays and such

Well Christmas has come and gone, New years went bang and now unfortunately we have to start looking towards going back to work. Oh well it was good while it lasted.

I've had pretty good holidays, spent some time in Qld with the grandparents and family over Christmas (beats being at sea for Christmas) then came back to Sydney before the family to spend some time with KATpaw3.
After that spent a week in Melbourne at NCYC (The National Christian Youth Convention), was really a great week, really challenging and moving.

Now back in Sydney killing time until KATpaw3 gets back so i can see her again before going back to work on Monday.

I promised before Christmas that I'd find something to take photos of, well I did, or rather it found me. We had a couple of cockatoos land on our pool fence and they stayed around long enough for me to take some photos, two of which I'm uploading now. I hope you enjoy them!

BTW, if for some reason you get the option to move out of home either: A) Totally move out of home or B) Don't move out of home.

Living in two places is just plain annoying. See I've only got one charger for my camera, and after using it for a week, the battery is running fairly low. I don't know if the charger is in Canberra or Sydney, I can't find it here, and I can't go back to Canberra just to check, and at $130 I can't just go into Paxtons and buy another one.

GAH!!!

So if anyone nearby (I live in Hornsby) has a charger suitable for the battery from a Canon 40D.....could i borrow it? Just for long enough to charge my battery....please?

Anyway, thats all for now, see ya.

Things around here arn't so great at the moment. To start with its exam time...Yay :sarcasm:
And on top of that, some of the people in charge here couldn't organise a coffee in coffeshop. Stupid.....

Anyway. As you've no doubt seen I've done some of the Canberra at Night photos I promised, I've still got some I want to do, but they will have to wait until after exams, maybe start of next year, depends on what happens week after next.

I'll try and take some photos over the Christmas period, I'm not sure what of yet, but I'm sure I'll find something.

To all those others who have exams at the moment, best of luck, study well.

Well its been a long time coming but there are now 3 new photos up.

All taken from Black Mountain - Canberra. I love landscape shots, especially as you may have gathered at sunset and sunrise.
I was also trying to experiment with putting things in the foreground and focusing either on them or on the background, and i'm quite happy with the results.

Next project is some photos of Canberra at night. Stay tuned.

Well I'm finally here, my girlfriend (KATpaw3) has an account here and with the photography I do, i thought it would be worth getting my own account so here i am.

About me, as i said I'm a photographer, my pride and joy is my Cannon 40D, currently the only lens i've got is a Sigma 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 DC OS, though i'm looking at getting a few more lenses. The two on the shopping list are a Cannon 50mm f/1.4 USM (about $300) and a Cannon 70-200mm f/2.8 (between $1500 and $2500) and maybe a macro lens too.

My main photographic interests? I like taking photos of nature, structures (both together if possible) and of course portraiture.

I also do jewelery design. In the recent past I've done only one piece, its in the gallery. However its something i do enjoy and i plan to make more in the future.

Well that should about do it. I'll leave this here for the moment.

Till next time

David
